Temp mail not receiving emails? Check these steps

A missing verification email can be an address problem, a blocked disposable domain, a delivery delay, or an inbox-access issue. Start with what you can check without requesting repeated codes.

1. Check the exact email address

Copy the address shown in your current inbox, then compare it with the address entered on the sender’s website. Check the username and the entire domain. Creating another random address does not move mail from the old inbox.

Custom usernames are normalized to lowercase letters and numbers. Punctuation is removed, and a name with fewer than five valid characters can be replaced with a generated one. The resulting inbox address is the address to use, not the name you originally typed.

2. Confirm that the inbox can load

Keep the inbox open and check for an error or password prompt. The page polls for new mail every five seconds while active. That is a refresh interval, not a promise that a sender will deliver within five seconds.

If the inbox has a password, enter the correct password before expecting messages to load. Moving to another browser or ending a browser session may require entering it again. There is no forgotten-password reset. See the password and reopening guide.

3. Read the sender’s response

A form may explicitly reject disposable email or require a particular domain. If it says the address is unsupported, use an email address that meets its rules. Repeatedly changing temporary domains is not a reliable way to complete verification.

A school or student verification flow may need an institution-issued account and enrollment checks. An edu-looking disposable address does not meet those requirements by itself. Read edumail versus student email.

4. Allow for delivery delays before resending

Follow the sender’s waiting period or resend countdown. A successful form submission does not prove that the message reached the receiving server. If you request multiple codes, the service may invalidate older ones, so follow its instructions about which message to use.

Do not post verification codes, passwords, or inbox links in public support channels. If the account is important, switch to permanent email or use the sender’s official recovery process.

5. Separate delivery from a browser problem

What you seeWhat to check
Password required or access deniedEnter the current inbox password. Waiting for delivery will not resolve access denial.
Domain selector stays on LoadingCheck your connection and reload. A service or network failure may be preventing domain discovery.
Inbox loads normally but stays emptyCompare the address, sender acceptance and waiting instructions.
An older inbox disappeared from the browser listThe list keeps up to ten recent addresses; it is not a server backup. Use the correct saved inbox details.
Mail is visible but a code failsThe code may have expired or been superseded. Follow the sender’s latest verification instructions.

If the application itself does not load, check whether your network or browser settings are blocking the API. Do not disable general security protections to open an unexpected email. The FAQ explains access and retention limits.

For developers testing email

Use a unique address for each permitted test and save the returned address and UUID. Poll only an inbox you are authorized to read. A successful inbox request with an empty message array is different from a network error, an unknown UUID, or a password failure.

The API reference documents the response shapes and status codes. Stop on authentication errors, back off on transient failures, and avoid retrying generation blindly after an uncertain timeout. Test with synthetic data, not real customer information.

When to choose permanent email

If a platform rejects temporary email, future recovery matters, or you are dealing with money or sensitive records, use a permanent account. Temporary email is a convenience for low-risk receiving, not a guarantee of delivery or acceptance. EduMails cannot make another website accept a domain or issue a verification code.
