EduMails Terms, Privacy and Acceptable Use

1. Terms of service

EduMails provides free, receive-only temporary email addresses, web inbox access, optional inbox-password protection, and related developer functionality. The service does not send email, issue official school accounts, certify identity or enrollment, or guarantee acceptance by third parties.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Features, domains, retention, limits, and availability may change. You are responsible for choosing an appropriate email type and for complying with the law and third-party terms.

No important-account use

Do not rely on EduMails for banking, healthcare, government, school records, financial aid, cryptocurrency, paid subscriptions, legal notices, sensitive documents, or any account that requires durable recovery. A temporary inbox can become unavailable without the recovery options of permanent email.

No student-status representation

Education-style domains are temporary inbox domains, not institution-issued identities. You may not represent an EduMails address as proof of enrollment, employment, accreditation, or affiliation with a school.

2. Acceptable use

You may use the service for lawful privacy, low-risk receiving, and authorized development or QA testing. You must not use it to:

• commit fraud, impersonation, phishing, harassment, threats, malware distribution, or any unlawful activity;
• evade a ban, rate limit, payment, identity check, eligibility requirement, or other platform control;
• create repeated or automated accounts in violation of a third party’s terms;
• abuse free trials, student discounts, coupons, referral systems, or promotions;
• receive stolen credentials, private keys, payment data, unlawful content, or material that infringes rights;
• probe, scrape, overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service beyond permitted API use;
• attempt to send, relay, or spoof email through EduMails domains.

We may restrict an address, sender, IP, domain, or feature; remove content; investigate abuse; or suspend service without notice when reasonably necessary for safety, operations, legal compliance, or enforcement.

3. Privacy notice

Data processed to provide the service

• Inbox data: the generated address, inbox identifier, received message content, sender and recipient details, timestamps, headers, and attachments where supported.
• Password data: if password protection is enabled, the server stores a one-way password hash. The readable password is not returned by the API.
• Technical data: IP address, request time, browser/device information, URLs, error and security events, and related server or network logs.
• Browser storage: current inbox details, recent inbox history, cached messages, preferences, and an active-session inbox password can be stored locally in the browser.

Purposes

We process data to generate and display inboxes, retrieve messages, validate protected access, maintain availability, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, measure performance, fund the service with advertising, translate the interface, and comply with legal obligations.

Providers and disclosures

Hosting, mail infrastructure, network/security, Google advertising and measurement, Firebase Analytics and Performance, Yandex advertising, and Google Translate may process data under their own terms and privacy notices. Data may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or to investigate credible abuse. We do not promise that technical or advertising data is never shared.

4. Retention and security

No fixed public retention period is guaranteed for inboxes or messages. Data may remain as needed for service operation and may be deleted for capacity, security, abuse prevention, maintenance, or legal reasons. Closing the browser tab should not be treated as a server-deletion command.

Technical and security logs may be retained for operational and abuse-investigation needs. Backups can persist temporarily after deletion. Use only non-sensitive information and retrieve it promptly.

HTTPS protects the web connection in transit. Email delivery is not end-to-end encrypted by default. No system is perfectly secure, and password protection does not convert a disposable inbox into a permanent confidential mailbox. Choose a unique password and never reuse a school, banking, or primary-email password.

5. Your choices and rights

• Stop using the service at any time.
• Clear local storage, session storage, and cookies through browser settings.
• Use available browser or provider controls for advertising and analytics where offered.
• Do not set an inbox password if you do not want a password hash stored.
• Contact us about a privacy or abuse concern with the inbox identifier and enough detail to locate the issue, but never send the password.

Privacy rights vary by location. We may need to verify a request and may retain information where the law or security obligations require it. Because standard inboxes are created without a user account, it may not always be possible to link an individual to server data.

6. Disclaimer and limitation

We do not warrant uninterrupted service, message delivery, domain acceptance, accuracy, permanent storage, security, fitness for a particular purpose, or eligibility for any third-party benefit. Links and message content come from third parties; open them at your own risk and verify the sender.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EduMails and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost data, messages, access, profits, or opportunities; or harm arising from misuse, third-party content, or service interruption. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so applicable rights remain.

We may update these terms when the product, providers, or law changes. The effective date at the top will be revised, and continued use after an update means acceptance of the new terms.
