EduMails Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about free temporary inboxes, password protection, edu-style domains, student status, delivery, retention, privacy, and safe use.

Basic temp mail questions

What is EduMails?

EduMails is a free receive-only temporary email service. Create a custom or random address, open its live inbox, and use it for permitted low-risk receiving or authorized software testing.

Do I need to register?

No user account is required to generate a standard inbox. The site does not ask for your name, personal email, phone number, or payment details before creation.

Can I send email?

No. EduMails is receive-only. Sending is intentionally unsupported to reduce spam and abuse.

Can I create multiple addresses?

Yes. You can create new addresses without purchasing a quota. The browser history remembers up to ten recent inboxes. Fair-use and anti-abuse controls still apply.

Is it safe for important accounts?

No temporary service is the right recovery address for banking, healthcare, government, school records, cryptocurrency, paid subscriptions, or important long-term accounts. Use permanent email with multifactor authentication.

Password-protected inbox questions

Can I add a password?

Yes. After creating the address, open the inbox action bar, choose Password, and enter 6–72 characters. The backend stores a one-way password hash.

What happens when an inbox has a password?

Requests to read protected messages must include the correct password. The browser stores it in session storage for the active session; another session or device can require it again.

Can I change the password?

Yes. Provide the current password and choose a new one. This prevents someone who merely has the inbox link from replacing the password.

Can a forgotten password be reset?

No. There is no account or recovery email behind a temporary inbox. Store the password in a password manager and do not use the inbox for anything you cannot afford to lose.

Privacy and retention questions

Are inboxes anonymous?

No name or personal email is required, but absolute anonymity is not promised. Hosting, security, advertising, analytics, Firebase performance, Google Translate, and network systems can process technical data such as IP address, browser information, identifiers, or events.

What is stored in my browser?

Local storage can contain the current inbox identifier and address, recent inbox history, and a message cache. A protected inbox password is kept in session storage for the active browser session. Clear site data to remove local copies from that browser.

How long are messages kept?

Do not assume a fixed retention period or that closing the tab deletes server data. Retrieve needed messages promptly. The service may remove messages or inboxes for capacity, security, abuse prevention, or operational reasons.

Are messages encrypted?

The website uses HTTPS in transit. Email delivery itself depends on the sending and receiving mail systems and should not be treated as end-to-end encrypted. Never receive secrets or sensitive documents through disposable email.

Edu mail and student verification

Is this a real university email?

No. EduMails can offer education-style temporary domains, but the addresses are not issued by a school and do not prove enrollment.

Can it unlock ChatGPT Plus, Gemini AI Pro, Grok, Claude Pro, GitHub Student, or Canva Education?

No benefit is guaranteed by an email suffix. These services may require enrollment documents, a recognized institution, SheerID, a teacher invitation, campus licensing, location, age, account history, or payment. Use the verified AI offer guide and each provider’s official terms.

How do I get an official student email?

Enroll in an eligible institution and activate the account through its student portal or IT department. If already enrolled, contact the official help desk rather than buying an account.

Delivery and verification messages

Can EduMails receive OTP codes and links?

Yes, when the sender accepts the domain and successfully delivers the message. No provider can guarantee acceptance by every website.

Why was the address rejected?

The site may block disposable domains or require a recognized institution. Respect that rule and use a permanent or official school-issued address rather than cycling through domains.

Why has a message not arrived?

Check the spelling, wait briefly, confirm the sender actually sent it, and use Refresh. Delivery can fail because of sender policy, DNS, filtering, queues, or domain reputation.

Can I recover a deleted or missing message?

Recovery is not guaranteed. Save only non-sensitive information you legitimately need and use permanent email for durable records.

API, acceptable use, and support

Is there a developer API?

Yes. See the temp mail API documentation for address generation and inbox testing. Use synthetic data and staging systems, and follow fair-use limits.

What use is prohibited?

Do not use EduMails for fraud, harassment, malware, trial abuse, ban evasion, automated fake accounts, impersonation, or any unlawful activity. See the Acceptable Use terms.

How do I report abuse?

Email abuse@edumail.su with full message headers and relevant evidence. For general support, use the Telegram support channel.

Need a private inbox instead?

EduMails creates free receive-only temporary inboxes for privacy, software testing, newsletters, and one-off signups. It does not replace enrollment verification for student offers.
