Create as many temporary inboxes as you need for privacy, QA testing, newsletters, downloads, and permitted one-off signups. EduMails is a receive-only email tool; it does not verify student status or guarantee academic discounts. Services such as GitHub, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude may require current enrollment, identity checks, region rules, payment, or institution-managed access.
Azure for Students $100 Credit: Eligibility Guide
Current status: Microsoft Azure for Students gives eligible full-time college students $100 in Azure credit for the first 12 months, selected free service amounts, and signup without a credit card. Microsoft requires real academic eligibility; an EDU-looking temporary address alone does not qualify.
Official eligibility requirements
- You must affirm that you are at least 18 years old.
- You must be a full-time student at an accredited, degree-granting two- or four-year institution.
- You must verify academic status through your institution's email address.
- The offer is limited to one subscription per eligible customer and is not intended for MOOCs or for-profit professional training.
What the offer includes
The current offer provides $100 credit to use within 12 months on eligible Azure services. Microsoft also lists selected free monthly service amounts. Unused credit does not transfer, Marketplace products and several separately licensed services are excluded, and the subscription can be disabled when the credit is exhausted unless you upgrade.
Official activation steps
- Open the official Azure for Students page.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account you intend to keep.
- Complete Microsoft's academic verification using your genuine institution account.
- Review the offer terms and spending limits, then activate the subscription.
- Use Azure Cost Management alerts so experiments do not unexpectedly require a paid upgrade.
Why a temporary address is not enough
EduMails provides receive-only temporary inboxes for privacy and testing. It is not a school and does not establish enrollment. Do not create repeated accounts or substitute an unrelated temporary domain for the institution address Microsoft requires. Applicants without eligibility can use Microsoft's standard free services or local development tools instead.
Renewal and account safety
Microsoft says eligible students may renew annually after re-verifying student status. Keep important source code in version control and back up cloud data: free subscriptions can be disabled after credit exhaustion, prolonged inactivity, graduation, failed reverification, or a terms violation.
